Revolution Radio will always favour rock music and shows, and brings you a selection of different genre shows including all out rock, request shows, a blues rock show and other genres; but we also leave room for alternate formats and experimental shows. The Baron's Rock Show

The Baron's Rock Show

The Baron's Rock Show goes out on Wednesday nights between 7-10pm (or longer) and is hosted by Darren The Baron Smithson. The Baron's Rock Show currently is the longest running show on RRO, bringing you classic rock songs, hidden gems, new bands and great features, such as Rock Blitz, Trinity and the Live at the BRS mini gig at the end.

The Sunday Rock Show

The Sunday Rock Show

The Sunday Rock Show is 3 hour non-stop rock show playing the best rock & metal tunes and is hosted by "The Reverend' Robin Ellis- with your requests - send to srs.requests@outlook.com. Expect plenty of Molly Hatchet, Deep Purple, Asia, Magnum, Doro Pesch and so on, and commences at 7pm every Sunday night.

Darkness and Chaos

Darkness and Chaos

Hosted by Nick Court every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, between 645pm and 1015pm, with a rotation of the alternative music genres of Gothic, Alternative, Industrial, Electronic (EBM), Post Punk and Alternative Rock. Each show will have a different rotation of the genres with 3 of the 6 per show, as well as an album or artist of the show which will be played in parts across the show. This format enables a totally different sound in each show to keep you on your toes.

Ms Deed's Adventures In Music

Ms Deed is shaking our trees in her Tuesday night show at 8pm. The show brings you classic rock, modern guitar based rock and pop, and soft rock with more than the odd surprise thrown in for good measure. She's here to shake that tree!

The Wednesday Supplement

The Wednesday Supplement

A monthly version of the old weekly TWS, with multiple genres and features including Rock Zone, Pop Blitz, Dimension X, New Age Lounge, Going to the Darkside and much more. The show goes out on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, starting at 2pm through to around 630pm.

Showcase Specials

Showcase Specials

Showcase Specials usually go out on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 7pm and is a 2 to 4 hour show focusing on one genre or theme. The shows can also go out on a Tuesday or Thursday night, so keep checking the Schedule page.

The Supplement Presents

The Supplement Presents

The Supplement Presents occurs at any time, on any day, and with any format or genre. One show could be southern rock, or a prog special, another could be a Dimension X sci fi dramas show and so on. Dates will be decided at pretty much short notice so make sure you visit the Forum chatroom for updates. Hosted by Darren 'The Baron' Smithson & Lady Black.

The Trooper's Lowedown, with Steve 'The Trooper' Lowe, will bring you classic rock and modern greats, ranging from Iron Maiden to The Foo Fighters and everyone in between. Initially adhoc days so keep watching the schedule for details of when to listen!

The links between classic rock structures and classical music are well established. Hosted by The Doc midday on Tuesday for two hours, the show features classical music from the past through to the modern era.

Miss Bonnie's Magical Musical Tour show is an adhoc radio show that explores her rich musical history, with classic rock, 90s guitar pop and rock, the alternate scene and more. Check her chatroom for dates and details on individual shows.

Metal Mayhem!

Explore the metal side of rock with Darren The Baron. Expect a much heavier sound than our normal fare here on RRO with more Maiden, more Metallica, more Nirvana, more Linkin Park and so on. Temporarily on an adhoc basis, with a special feature added to The Wednesday Supplement.

The Cafe

This is not plinky plinky jazz, but true fusion & psychedelic, with the likes of Miles Davis, Weather Report & Gong, along with prog-jazz fusion from early YES, Soft Machine and more. Hosted by the Baron, temporarily on an adhoc basis, with a special feature added to The Wednesday Supplement.

The Doc's Blues Rock Show

The Doc's Blues Rock Show

Long running show now moved to an adhoc basis so see weekly Schedule post in the Revolution Gazette. Hosted by "The Doctor" Hunt and featuring the likes of BB King, Rory Gallagher, Sari Schorr, John Lee Hooker, Joe Bonamassa, Rebecca Downes and many more. The show covers all blues and blues rock genres.

The Dame's Mix Up

The Dame's Mix Up

Hosted by Dame Penny Buxton, this adhoc show plays rock of all genres, with a particular fondness for synthonic and southern rock. Expect Molly Hatchet and Magnum, along with Thin Lizzy, Delain, Epica and so on.

Drive with the Doc and the Gang

Drive with the Doc and the Gang

Drive With The Doc and the Gang is a show hosted by Stephen 'The Doc' Hunt, with Penny, the Baron, and listeners contributing to the feature set. With an increased work load for the Doc, the show is shifting for the time being into an adhoc special format. Watch the Forum for information.

Dee Play

Dee Play

DJ AP (c) (and pronounced Dee-JAP) is our AI DJ who chooses songs at random from our playlists for the autoplay show "Dee Play", in which she provides the music between the live shows. Always uncompromising and surprising, Dee has developed her own mannerisms and now has a voice in which she speaks at intervals to her listeners.

DiVerse

Imagine an alternative Universe, which has a Revolution Radio, with the same DJs and the same listeners, but does shows you just wouldn't expect those DJs to do! Welcome to the DiVerse! Ok, it's all a bit of fun really, see the Schedule page for details.

Revolution Radio Xtra

Revolution Radio Xtra could one day return to feature shows and music that are not in fitting with the total rock ethos of the main station, but which our listeners request and which our DJs enjoy doing. The channel is likely to remain offline for some time, but who knows, it may return one day.

HOW TO LISTEN

All our rock shows are broadcast on  the /revolutionone link with the mixed genre shows that used to be on CFRXtra now along side on the one stream.  All our main shows also have chat-rooms for you to chat with the DJ and other listeners with during the show (or indeed a Coffee Shop chat-room for you to just drop in)- sign up now at https://www.revolutionradio.online/forum and get access  all the chat-rooms, with better looking picture handling, formatted text and text and pics in the same comment. Furthermore, anyone contributing to the chat-rooms gets entered into an annual prize draw to win a 5CD boxset of Ultimate Rock Anthems and other bits and pieces we have laying around the studios.
