With the announcement from the Rev that the Sunday Rock Show is taking a long hiatus, and with Doc moving the Drive gang to Tuesday afternoons, there are obviously some changes coming along for the Summer programming here on CFR.
As of last week, Drive with Doc & the Gang moved to Tuesday afternoon at 2pm, so that Doc and Penny could have a break between that show and The Dame's Mix Up at 7pm on Thursdays. Then on Sunday, the Rev announced that he would be taking a break of "at least a few months" due to an impending house move (with all the natural chaos that brings!) and the need to rebuild a studio from scratch one settled in.
Now we've known about this for a few weeks, so have been thinking about what to do. And here you go!
The CFR Pilots Programme
Given we have a free slot for a while, we thought we might try out ideas for genre shows and different formats etc, and let you lot decide whether or not we have a market for them. The Southern Rock Show? Rock Serenity? Death Metal?? Who knows!?! At this stage, we're still thinking about what they will be but hope to have some shows announced by the end of June :)
Welcome to the DJ's DiVerse!
Imagine, there's a world where Crossfire Radio also exists, with the same DJs, and the same fab listeners. But on this alternate Earth, the DJs play music you would't associate with them in our universe. This is The DiVerse. It's all a bit of fun really, as John "The Metalizer" Rawstron brings you a Destiny's Child Showcase... THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN LOL, but we may be bringing you some surprising shows just the same, including Nick's Court 80s electro pop show (think Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, Visage etc). There are a couple more in the pipeline and we'll announce the programme at the end of the month. None of these shows will be regulars here on CFR, but we thought we might as well have a bit of fun whilst we have a free slot for a while :)
But That's Not All!
We'll also continue to do a request show on a Sunday night - at least one a month- whilst the Rev is away, and on weeks where none of us are free, we'll drop in a Playback, so you can experience those shows you don't normally get chance to listen to, or relive one that you did listen to but wanted to hear again.
Watch out for a Programme list to go up here at the end of June, and for information on the Schedule page and the ticker tapes.
Crossfire Radio is on the move. Time to Join the Revolution.
Update: The Schedule!
