As we wait for Ms Deed to return, one of the ways we will cover for her is with semi-regular playbacks of our favourite shows- from as far back as our recordings go (maybe even the first year of Crossfire Radio!).
The first one will be this coming Friday, the 7th of May, around 7pm, and it will be the Jim Steinman Showcase (subject to a recording test), in respect of his recent passing. A proper promo will go up next week once we're sure the recording is complete.
By the way, in case you were thinking "but didn't they stop putting up playbacks cos of licensing issues", this is different. Putting up shows for you to listen to at your own convenience, is classed as "music on demand", which is a whole set of even more expensive license fees!! However, running a repeat of a show on a set day at a set time, is still a normal broadcast. Yes, we checked haha.
Have a good weekend everyone.
It's confirmed! PlayBack Friday this week at 7pm is Bad for Good: The Jim Steinman Showcase.
Before he went all Mr Showbiz, Jim Steinman pulled together some of the biggest session musicians and artists and created stadium rock before stadium rock was a term. This repeat show, in respect of his recent passing, will feature Meatloaf, Air Supply, Fire Inc, Bonnie Tyler, as well as music by artists connected to Steinman, such as Todd Rundgren and more., including from his seminal solo album "Bad For Good".
