RRO is not resting on its laurels as the new year approaches and we thought you might like to hear what we have planned.
First off, we're adding more genre-specific shows. We already have the world's premiere weekly blues rock show with the Doc, with goth, industrial and garage rock covered in Darkness & Chaos with Nick Court. Well, from January 16th Dame Penny will bring you a monthly Symphonic Rock show! (3rd Thursday of the Month).
We will also bringing Metal Meltdown back, and will have a regular southern rock show in 2020 too, and we're also hoping to squeeze in a Prog Rock show.
Secondly, we have new shows on the way. We just mentioned the above rock genre shows, but from Jan 23rd, we'll also being you Jazz Rock Fusion, with me and the Doc taking it in turns to bring you the best in experimental rock jazz fusion. Think Lucifer's Friend, Miles Davies, late John Coltrane, Return to Forever, Spyro, Gong, early YES, Weather Report and so on. That will then run the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 9pm.
Third, shows are changing Formats. We've already mentioned that The Dame's Mix Up is delivering a monthly "Symphonies of the Night", as well as retaining a monthly original format. Well, The Rev will be returning on Sunday nights soon, but with changes to the format of the SRS, and The Wednesday Supplement will also have a new format when it returns in the new year. Watch out in their group pages for announcements.
Fourth, DeePlay will add another 3 to 4 days of songs to each of the 4 main playlists. That's more classic rock, more new and independent artists, more choice songs from 25,000 unsorted library songs to go through and add. And that will be completed by the end of January.
Lastly, DeePlay Event Days will be launched, starting this Christmas Day. Our new server system allows us to be far more flexible, so we'll have themed playlists for specific events in the calendar. This will include St Georges Day this year as we begin a push to regain English pride and celebrate him the way our brothers and sisters in the rest of the UK celebrate their patron saints!. And don't worry Scotland, N Ireland and Wales, we're gonna make sure you have your own full day playlists in 2021, with our live shows covering your days in 2020. A full schedule is being worked out and will be published early Jan.
