CFR is looking for rock DJs for day, night, late night and weekend broadcasting. This could be a generic rock show, or specifically based eg metal, modern rock, southern, prog etc.
We're not looking for perfect, but you must have:
A legal music library. CFR is a fully licensed station and any piracy is strictly forbidden.
A computer capable of streaming music at 320Kbps, with at least 4GB Ram
Internet connection capable of at least 1mbps UPLOAD (use Ookla speedtest to check) and an Ethernet connection into the router (wi fi connections can be interfered with)
An external mic (inbuilt mics are not of good enough quality)
A quiet area in which to broadcast from
A 2nd computer from which to do show interaction in our Forum from. This does not need to be as powerful as the show laptop.
And that's it. We will provide all software tools and training (it's really easy!)
To become a DJ with us, send us an outline of the show you would like to do and a 30-60mins demo if you doing a show - just record it using Audacity (free) or whatever free recording tool you have on your computer and don't worry about it being perfect. We've been doing this for years and still forget what we're saying lol. It is a skill that develops over time.
To find out more about Crossfire Radio simply go to https://www.crossfireradio.net/ and explore the site and send your outline and link to a demo to studio.crossfire.radio@gmail.com.
Note: Our shows are typically 3 hours in length, but we can provide for 1h or 2h formats. Note also that we all give our time for free, it's about the fun and building skills.
