LISTEN TO US ON BOTH ALEXA HARDWARE AND ALEXA APPS!
We are pleased to announce that you can now listen to Revolution Radio Online on any Alexa platform, whether hardware or app based. Yes, you don't need an ECHO or ECHO DOT to use Alexa, as she is currently available on Android, iOS and Windows 10 computers, phones and tablets. (a Linux version is on the way).
All you need to do is, from within your Amazon account, press the ENABLE button at https://www.amazon.co.uk/Unmuted-Limited-Revolution-Radio-Online/dp/B0855PNTVZ and all your Alexa enabled devices will be able to accept the commands: "Alexa, play Revolution One." and then, "Alexa pause", "Alexa resume" and "Alexa Stop."
-Download the Amazon Alexa app on to your Android or iOS device
-If you have an ECHO/ECHO DOT, sign into the app with your Amazon ID and connect your Echo device to it, if not, sign in with your existing Amazon account ID.
-If you have already signed in, just head over to the hamburger menu and search for Revolution Radio Online or Revolution One.
-Once you get the results, click on our link and on the new page press the ‘Enable To Use’ button.
-After a few seconds, the skills should be enabled on your Echo device. Just say “Alexa play Revolution One.”.
So now, you can listen to us by simply asking Alexa to play us :)
Note also that Amazon have already begun the process of moving ALL radio stations to their Amazon Music platform, so you may need to also create a free account on that platform. At this stage it is unclear as to whether it is an either or both accounts scenario.
As more information comes out of Amazon we will attach it to this post in the comments field. Also, let us know if your country has a completely different set up process in the comments field so we can clarify with other users.
In the meantime, for those Alexa users in the UK -ENJOY. It really does work like a charm- I opened the door to Miss Bonnie who came in from work yesterday, and said, "Alexa, play Revolution One!" to my phone, which was in the living room, and our station came through loud and clear.
How fabulous is that!?!
