This week the play ‘Wot Dave Wrote’ is Rapugnant – a loose (very loose) take on Rapunzel! So, expect plenty of suitably themed songs throughout the show about hair, towers, locks, prison, rescue - you get the idea I am sure.
This week Pen’s Featured Album is Angel Witch by Angel Witch. Ann’s Man of the Week is Terry Hall (he of the Specials and Fun Boy Three fame) and her Formative Years are The Kinks. What’s Your Style has got Blues, Metal, a part of a Soundtrack and Space Rock (from Paul Limb, of course) – all within the theme of the week. There are 4 excellent tracks for Pen’s Rock Picks and, there are 3 in her Chill Out Zone later in the show. There will be all the other usual features (see Pen’s poster, below) and, as ever, our normal eclectic mix of music. There will be tracks from Survivor, Revolution Saints, The Bellamy Brothers, Eric Clapton, Paul Weller, Edwyn Collins, Candice Night, Free, Beck, The Beatles, CSNY, Brian Wilson, Blondie, Barclay James Harvest and many more.
The show will finish with a bit of classical chamber music therapy with Debussy’s La Fille aux Cheveaux de Lin as performed by Christina Astrand and Per Salo.
Just mixed the playlist and the opening track will be A Tower Struck Down by Steve Hackett.
