This week’s ‘Play Wot Dave Wrote’ is ‘Dickensian Turpin’ – basically Dick Turpin meets Charles Dickens characters from Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Christmas Carol and Bleak House.So, expect tracks from Adam and The Ants, Wishbone Ash, Freddy King, The Highwaymen Elvis Costello, Cockney Rebel, ELO, The Cranberries and many more.
In addition to the usual spots (see Pen’s Poster, above), “What’s Your Style?” features Punk, Blues, Trad. Jazz, Jazz Funk, Disco and Rock - all within the theme of the week, of course. We have the return of Ann’s Heep of Fun and also Pen has selected Uriah Heep’s Very ‘Eavy Very ‘Umble as her featured album of the week. Mucho Heep's of Fun this week!!!
The show will finish with a bit of classical therapy with the Finale from Arnold Bax’s 1948 film score of Oliver Twist, as performed by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
