Many moons ago, a young band sent us their first album, Cursed & Corrected. We loved it, made jokes about how they looked like a boy band but sounded anything but, and sung our hearts out to tracks like 'Mystery' & 'Save Us Yourself'. But recovering from the lockdown, changes to our licences and various other events, over time we kind of forgot about them. Until just before Christmas, I rediscovered the album, and started to play them again on my show. And people said, ' hey, this is great, who are they!?!' 'Twister!' said I proudly, for that's what they were called back then. Listeners said they wanted more, so I went to find them... except I couldn't.

I searched for days... well, okay, hours, before I found an email from their agent announcing that 'the band formerly known as Twister...' and there they were, newly branded as 'Juliet's Not Dead'. And they had a new album in the works!
Regular listeners to 'The Baron's Rock Show' will know that I've been previewing the album for several weeks now with the 4 songs the band sent over for us. Now at last the album is here, having being released on Friday (7th Feb).
The question is, is 'This World Is Ours' as good as 'Cursed & Corrected'?
Well boys, you can come out from hiding now, as the answer is not only a resounding YES, but it's BETTER, and a natural successor showing growth and maturity that is everything you could wish for from a follow up album (and which, sadly, so many fail to achieve)! From the opening hook of 'Sinner or Saint' to the closing refrain of 'Capsize', what we have on this album are 10 tight tunes that race at a pace that is exhilarating! The energy on display here is only matched by the skill with which each song has been crafted, performed and recorded.
Now, I know most of you will want to know what the band sound like, what sub-genre they fall into. That's tricky. I could say they are pop-metal but that's a dis-service. I could say they are commercial rock at its best. But that isn't quite right either. The band have a little post-punk in them to be sure so I could say it's kind of like Wheatus, Pyromania-era Def Leppard and Alter Bridge all got together, had a love-child and out popped Juliet's Not Dead. But that's not quite right either.
So I will say this, the band are in the 'frenetic guitars, outrageous harmonies, high-octane performance, commercially hooked heavy rock' genre. In other words, they have their own sound.
They are what British rock has been waiting for for some years now.
I cannot wait to see the guys live!
