THIRD ALBUM AD NAUSEUM CRANKS UP THE ANGER!
Well, those boys from Barnsley (and other parts of South Yorkshire) have only gone and done it again, serving up an aural assault on the senses that builds on the direction set by their first two albums, grabbing you by the ear lobes and never lets go!
The band have already had the kind of critical acclaim for both their studio releases and live performances that would make most artists blush, with commercial success currently sitting at the cult status and building all the time. Now all this, combined with the, shall we say, the experience of age, would be enough to introduce comfort into a band, a soft underbelly to the sound and message, something that strikes many bands around the third album. Not in this case. Ad Nauseum is quite possibly the angriest, anti-elite and anti-political class album I've ever heard, with Lee and the boys snarling their way through each song- and not just vocally. The whole album has that "everything louder than everything else" approach to rock, with energy and anger right to the fore.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a THRASH metal, or a Death Metal album. Each and every song is tightly performed, with underlying melodies and harmonies of a type you could find in a pomp rock album- so long as that album was shot full of steroids, laced with adrenaline and then sent for a week in Hell! To be fair, Servers metal-rock is pretty difficult to define. Cult rock is the official definition, but it's cult rock that is angry and defiant, that is bang on the message that the band delivered right from the astonishing debut album Leave With Us: the world is not what it should be, those that rule us do not have our best interests at heart, and reality for the masses is a nightmare of entropic decay.
The album is out on Friday 19th April and is available for preorder now from https://www.serversband.co.uk . Do it now. Do not wait for permission. Be part of the resistance.
