Regular listeners of this station will know we have certain artists that we have adopted. We have bands and artists that we publicly support, and one of those is the 'Dark Princess of the Revolution', otherwise known as Stella Wembley.
A complete workaholic and perfectionist, Stella has driven herself to know how every aspect of her industry works- not just the composition and performance of her music, but how to produce, mix, engineer, program her keyboards and drum machines- as well as how to market both her music and her musical persona.
I think it is true to say that Stella also wears her heart on her sleeve, and in many of her songs the lyrics reflect the tides and eddys that are flowing around her at any given time, often combining those life experiences and feelings with a sensual, darkly sexual narrative that creates her very own musical mythos. Chameleon like she steps deftly from one dark or gothic or electro-punk to industrial-pop inspired musical influence to another and the combination of those dark musical veins and deep poetical lyrics never fail to produce songs that demand, whether you like her genre of choice or not, that you pay attention to her productions.
But with her new EP 'Wasting My Time' she takes this journey through her own psyche to confront not just recent frustrations with the music industry per se, but to look into longer, deep-seated vexations about the lack of support she has felt from family and friends for all of her career. The result is a set of lyrics angrier than any I have heard from any other Stella song- and indeed, some of the angriest lyrics of any song!
The EP itself features four different mixes of the song, each one building on the version before it and adding different dimensions to the story unfolding within our ears. As I have said in previous reviews, I'm not the biggest fan of the overall spread of genres that Stella operates in, but there's just so much to take away from a Stella-song that it makes her music irresistable.
And so it is with this song. Rich and deep lyrics, melodies that crash together like the ocean on a rocky beach, influences entwining so many dark electro genres that they fuse into one body of music- all combining to give utterance to a new dynamic Stella Wembley chapter.
I only have one criticism. Where is the album already!?!

ABOUT STELLA WEMBLEY:
A Graduate from The Royal Music Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella in Naples, Stella Wembley is the new rising star of the UK Dark Synth/Gothic Scene. An accomplished music producer, video director, composer, lyricist, multifaceted musician and truly exceptional vocalist Stella captivates with her own particular take on the genre.
Alluringly she leads the listener into a haunted realm where, with powerful and evocative deep lyrics, she lays bare her soul in a psycho-drama of tragedy and melancholic sensuality. She sings powerfully, yet with a hint of vulnerability, like a beautiful damned siren calling us to join her in her dark universe. Stella Wembley is a visionary artist who seems to defy description.
