It's the summer holidays, and many of us are off on holibobs or, like Miss B and I, a massive round country road trip. So that got me thinking, what's your fave songs for when you're doing those long drives to get to that far off destination during the holiday season?

When I had my old (and really really missed!) Jag, she had a CD multi-changer, and for the long drives to either go see Miss Bonnie (before she moved North!) and my girls, invariably the CDs would be:
Mob Rules by Black Sabbath
Number of the Beast OR Best of the Beast by Iron Maiden
Silent Cries & Mighty Echoes or Floating by ELOY
Images at Twilight or Worlds Apart by SAGA OR I Robot or Pyramid by The Alan Parsons Project
and then a compilation, probably Greatest Ever Rock 1 through 5 etc
All have great songs for singling along to whilst bombing (under the speed limit of course) along the M1/M40, or to give you energy when flagging, or for quiet reflection and soul expansion (especially if late at night) lol.
I miss my car :(
Oooh! There are so many. Bryan Adam's Summer of "69, Dave Lee Roth Just Like Paradise, anything by Foreigner, Queen Breakthru'... 🤗
One of my favourites is 2-4-6-8 Motorway by The Tom Robinson Band as are Keep on Running by The Spencer Davis Band and Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf.
I don't drive, but as everybody knows when I request Running Down A Dream by Tom Petty, I always say it is one of the best driving songs ever, as is Isn't It Midnight by Fleetwood Mac.
