My favourite non rock concert ( can you say it is non rock ? ) was Cher in 1999 on the Believe album tour. It was brilliant apart from the fact that I had held back from going to the toilet for 45 minutes so that I didn't miss her perform Turn Back Time. Eventually, I gave in and had to go,and guess what she started as I was relieving myself ? The words you bitch soon echoed around the Manchester arena.
Aha forgot about the non-rock one. Well no competition, has to be Nick Harper son of Roy Harper of 70s fame. Seen him a number of times and what he can't do with an acoustic guitar isn't worth doing :-)
I've picked my rock gig, for the non rock gig it would have to be Florence and the Machine , saw them at the student union club at Kings college London. I wasn't keen on going at first but i am glad i did.
My fave none rock gig was Gabby Young - at the Cast in Doncaster, where she asked me to stand up and then dedicated One Foot In Front of the Other to me. If you get the chance to see her live, you simply must- she will hold your complete focus from start to finish!
It was at this gig that Gabby also signed the above piece of vinyl, one of my most prized possessions!!
Dead easy one this, Status Quo at the Apollo Glasgow in 1976, first gig i ever went to and at the time the one band i was dying to see live. I didn't know at the time the gig was being recorded for the 1977 Live album so i guess its a plus that my voice is on there somewhere.
Difficult, but either Black Sabbath at the Hammy Mar 77 (if memory serves) on the Technical Ecstasy tour or Motorhead umpteen times at the Marquee & Dingwalls in the mid to late 70...
As if you need to ask lol. Queensryche at Manchester Apollo in 1990 during the Building Empires tour. It was the first time that they had played Operation Mindcrime in its entirety at every gig of the tour and it was a mind blowing gig.
Haha, I've done that before. It's difficult to enjoy the music when your busting. Best to get it over with so you can relax :-)
