Now I am sure you have heard of Paul Dukas, the French composer, critic, scholar and teacher. A studious man of retiring personality, he was intensely self-critical, having abandoned and destroyed many of his compositions. His best-known work is the orchestral piece The Sorceror's Apprentice (L'apprenti sorcier), the fame of which has eclipsed that of his other surviving works. Among these are an Opera, a Symphony, a Piano Sonata, Solo Piano Works and a Ballet. So on this weeks Tuesday Classical Corner we will be having all three movements of his Symphony in C. And we will start the show with his most famous work - L'apprenti sorcier. Add some Mozart, Beethoven, Wakeman, Einaudi, 2Cellos and more and we have a cracking show lined up.
Come and join me at Midday on Tuesdays for 2 hours of classical choonage to take you into the afternoon, only on RevolutionONE.
